When it comes to enjoying a spot of casino slots online, many gamers are drawn in by the ads. The ads that we see online and on a TV show us just what we could get if we try the site out. From showing off their latest no deposit deals to the best 20 free no deposit casino spin bonuses, we get so many ideas for casinos to come and try out. That, though, has come under increasingly large scrutiny in recent weeks, months, and years.
The latest culmination of this has come from the UK Advertising Standards Agency, who have banned advertising from Casumo. The advertisement was banned as it targeting search terms like “how to unsubscribe from all gambling” – meaning that they would appear advertising impressive bonuses, like their 20 free spins for no deposit, on searches, aimed at ending a relationship with casinos online.
That is why the decision has been made by the ASA to pull the plug on this particular advertisement. While the company claims to have made various excluded terms and combinations to try and avoid such an issue, this has clearly slipped through the net and caused plenty of controversy at the same time.
The complaint was made and now the ASA has acted, meaning that Casumo will need to call it quits with their posts about online casino bonuses and welcome deposits on certain search terms. It’s another example of how serious the UKGC and ASA are taking cracking down in irresponsible gambling ads.
