Gambling Firms Under Fire in UK for ‘Enticement’

The UK casino slots scene has been changing quite a lot in recent years. The much-publicised back and forth between the UK Gambling Commission and the gambling sites that so many people use has created a lot of tension. It’s also had a bit of an impact on the number of new casino sites opening up. With so much uncertainty around the scene, some companies simply won’t take the risk.

The fact is that we’re seeing the casino industry come under increasing fire for its policies and practices. From the work to ban things like free spins in UK casinos to new casino sites finding it harder to start up, there’s a lot to unpack here. One thing that was recently reported by The Guardian, too, was that casinos were under-fire due to their ‘VIP scheme’s which enticed loss-making customers to back and play again.

This has caused a fair amount of consternation within the gaming community, with the major complaint being that the industry is simply trying to appear to be safer rather than doing anything about it. That might explain why we are seeing such strict movement from the UK gambling authorities; they want to try and force change in the industry.

Some of the more uncouth practices definitely need to change, and reports like this one from The Guardian only show why more has to be done to make gambling not only safer but less enticing to loss-makers.
