When it comes to the UK gaming scene, whether it’s casino slots or sports betting, so many options exist for gamers. New casino sites appear to be opening up all the time, giving gamers more options and more variety to pick from than they have ever wanted or needed. From the various forms of no deposit bonus in UK gaming circles to the numerous free spins UK gamers can get as forms of promotions, there’s more incentive to get involved than ever.
However, the UK regulatory body, the Gambling Commission has started to push for a higher standard of gaming option. They have been especially looking at companies which are based abroad and will be targeting British groups – particularly those based in Malta.
Indeed, they found that a whopping 45 out of 123 regulators had been told to up their game by the Gambling Commission. This would mean that another 14 have also been asked for further investigation to take place into their practices, while a whopping £18m was paid out by 7 operators alone in penalty fees.
Three PMLs were even given up entirely, showing just how serious the GC is about making some big changes here. With a lot of focus on things like free spins with no deposit on UK sites, we could expect to see more to come from this story. The UK seems to be on a collision course with online casino gaming – it’ll be interesting to see who blinks first.
