Banks asked to block casino payments in Norway
As the Norwegian way of life is often lauded, so too is their approach to the online casino gaming sector. While new casino sites are hard to set up, those who are set up often have to jump through a considerable number of hoops if they wish to survive in the Norwegian regulated market. A major trend in Scandinavian online casino gaming at the moment is to try and push for a ban on all credit card usage. However, this might be going further as some companies are suggesting that banks should block all payments to online casinos ASAP.
According to studies into the industry, some $256m had passed through the Norwegian gaming scene in the last year alone. However, despite that large influx of cash, it’s likely that this new decision will mean that the figures will drop off as banks are asked to make some pretty significant concessions to the government.
Strict regulation has long been a part of this country when it comes to online casino gaming. Like much of Scandinavia, they are often world leaders when it comes to more regulated casino gaming and taking less risks with the likelihoods and life quality of those who live in the country.
This latest movement, though, could stop many Norwegian gamers having the chance to play online. With many still stuck in lockdown, the option to entertain oneself by using an online casino gaming system appears to be falling away. While online casino gaming can still happen, being able to use direct bank payments is about to become much tougher – is that really such a boon for those who wish to take part?
